Sun Chemical attaches the highest priority to the protection of the environment and the prevention of pollution. We seek to ensure that the impact of our operations, products and services on the environment is reduced to as low a level as practicable, and that we continually improve our processes and procedures to achieve further reduction in environmental impact.

The European Senior Business Leaders (members of the Senior Leadership Team) have overall responsibility for effective implementation of the SunCare^® Environmental Policy, which includes:

• Recognizing environmental protection as an integral part of our business performance.
• Setting, publishing and reviewing environmental objectives within the organization on a regular basis.
• Achieving high levels of environmental performance, complying with or exceeding legal requirements, relevant industry standards and codes of practice. The promotion of high and continually improving standards of environmental performance is set as a common objective for management and employees at all levels.
• Promoting best available practices for the reduction of emissions to air, water and land, and for the conservation of raw materials, water and energy. Promoting the minimization of environmental impact of products through Sun Chemical’s research and development programs, and through information and services provided to customers.
• Placing environmental management as a prime responsibility of line management, from the most senior executive to first-line supervisory level. All employees, however, regardless of their status and position, have a duty to be aware of the environmental impacts of their activities, and to apply practices and procedures established to ensure protection of the environment.
• Sharing and exchanging appropriate information with national and local authorities, professional associations, suppliers, customers and with other third parties who share common environmental interests.
• Ensuring that this policy is communicated and accessible to all employees, stake holders and other parties as appropriate. Ensuring that the policy is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels in the organization.
• Providing all employees with information, instruction, training and supervision so that they are competent to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
• Providing adequate and appropriate resources to implement this policy.
• Periodically reviewing the SunCare^®Environmental Policy and to audit compliance with the policy to ensure its continuing effectiveness.
