The CDR Ink Jet Printable Clear JPV has been specifically formulated for screen printing onto CD-R's (or DVD-R's). Subsequently these CD-R's (or DVD-R's) can be hand written on with pens and pencils and also ink jet printed by many commercially available CD ink jet printers.

Print Conditions
Testing has shown a single layer print through a 120 thread per cm mesh with a thread diameter of 34 microns gives the most consistent results. Other mesh grades including 165 and 180 have given good results, depending on the ink jet printer being used.

The use of double layers has not been found necessary, although some ink jet printers may benefit from a double layer.

Thinning
CDR Ink Jet Printable Clear JPV is supplied at print viscosity and should not require further thinning. Should it be absolutely necessary, 1-3% (by volume) water may be added. Thinning too much will affect the ink jet receptivity of the final print.
